BEFORE YOU START

A ready workspace for Rank.

Sign in as the server owner or with Manage Server permission. Open Rank, choose the correct server inside the app, and check its connection. Each app needs its own Discord installation consent.

New to Guildryx? Follow Getting started first

Configure the required channels, roles, and access before enabling and saving. Saving applies to this app in the selected server.

STEP 01

Enable message progression

  1. Install Rank and open its server workspace. Select Collect message XP in this server.
  2. Choose excluded XP channels in the workspace’s exclusion controls if some conversations should not count. Up to 25 different channels can be excluded.
  3. Enable Rank and save. Only eligible messages observed after activation can earn XP; older conversations are not imported.
STEP 02

Understand how XP is earned

  1. An eligible human message can earn 10 XP, at most once per member per minute in that server.
  2. Messages from bots, webhooks, system events, excluded channels, screened members, or timed-out members do not qualify.
  3. Rank observes eligible message events without reading or storing message text. Message Content Intent is not required.
  4. Level follows the square root of total XP divided by 100, rounded down: level 1 at 100 XP, level 2 at 400, level 3 at 900. Voice XP and reward roles are not active.
STEP 03

Check progress and pause collection

  1. Use /rank in the server to see your personal XP and level. Each Discord server has separate progression.
  2. Pause Rank and save to stop new awards. Already earned records are not reset simply by pausing.
  3. Records with no award activity for 365 days are cleaned up. This is not a permanent account-wide progression system.
COMMAND REFERENCE

Commands & controls

Use these controls for the current release inside the relevant Discord server. Discord’s command picker supplies required options; app-specific permissions still apply.

ACCESS & DATA

What this app needs and keeps

Discord access

Rank counts only eligible message events it can observe. Owners choose excluded channels. Rank does not assign reward roles or read message contents.

Stored information

The current release stores XP and award metadata, not message text or voice recordings. Inactive progression records are cleaned after twelve months.

Rank provides message XP and personal ranks. Voice XP, reward-role assignment, seasonal leaderboards and graphical rank cards are unavailable.

Troubleshooting

A message did not earn XP

Check Rank and XP collection are enabled, the channel is not excluded, and at least a minute has passed since the member’s last award. Bots, screening, and timeouts also affect eligibility.

My old messages did not count

Historical messages are not scanned or imported. Collection begins when Rank is configured, enabled, and observing eligible events.

A level did not grant a role

Levels report progression and do not change Discord roles. Automatic reward roles are unavailable.

Still stuck? Check Service Status, then contact private support with the app, server ID, and the error. Never send a password, bot token, or backup code.
